6 Super Soothing Homemade Masks To Calm Sensitive, Inflammed Skin

image

If you belong to the sensitive skin clan like me, you probably know, how hard it is to find safe, effective facial masks from the stores. You have to look for mild ingredients, fragrance-free, non-allergic, sulfate-free, non-comedogenic and the list goes on.

The store-bought products are very handy to use, provided you have found the right ones for you. I use them happily myself. Through trial and error, I have found the ones which work perfectly for my skin.

But what if I tell you don’t need to depend on only store-bought masks or buy those expensive organic, clean ones to get that dewy, healthy shine on your face?

You can get fabulous results using ingredients right from your kitchen cabinets or fridge.

The homemade masks or facials that I am gonna share are made up of common kitchen ingredients like banana, oatmeal, turmeric, honey, cucumber, avocado, yoghurt and so on. These gentle and nourishing ingredients will give you a vibrant fresh look while sooting your sensitive, inflamed skin.

FYI before DIY

The ingredients I have used in these recipes are very common household items. We actually eat most of them. But since we all have unique skin that can react differently to any ingredients, please do a patch test (internal link) by applying a small amount of the mask on the inside of your elbow and leaving it for 10-15 minutes. If no adverse reaction is seen, they may safely be used on the face.

Without hesitation, you can skip an ingredient that does not suit you or you don’t feel comfortable using it. You can adjust the amount too. There is no hard and fast rules for these DIY masks.

If you have chronic skin problems like psoriasis, eczema, acne, rosacea, or any other skin conditions at an advanced stage, please see your dermatologist before using the masks, just to be over sure.
